What do I do if I don’t recognize the merchant listed on my statement ?

Most big merchants write detailed transaction description, and it is easy to identify merchants via those descriptions.


On POS transactions and online transactions from SMBs ( small and medium size enterprises ), we see this issue - not able to recognize the merchant. 


To avoid such issues, we suggest below.


1. 

Set foreign transaction limit to 0

This will stop anyone from using your card without OTPs.

If the merchant name is not present, please reach out to the payment gateway name mentioned in the transaction description


In the past, our customers reached out to us for help on such issues, but we are unable to help. The merchant name information is not even present with mastercard or the card issuing bank. This information is only with the payment gateway or POS provider, and they were not cooperative with us.
