Foreign Merchant Recurring Transaction Failure

Modified on Fri, 18 Nov 2022 at 04:38 PM

As of now most international recurring payments (USD,EUR & GBP) are failing . Apart from merchants using Stripe payment gateway for USD payments, the transactions on other international merchants are failing.

Why Now?
As per RBI and our bank’s mandate, all recurring transactions of both Domestic and International merchants will be validated in the "SI Hub system” (E-mandate platform by Bill Desk ) for customer consent verification. Since many international merchants and their Payment Gateways(PG's) have not yet complied with the RBI mandate, the transactions are being denied by our partner bank.

Why are these transactions failing now ?
Our partner bank decided to make this process mandatory for all international merchants from 23/02. Earlier, this was only for domestic merchants. That’s why international transactions ( non INR ) on MailChimp and other merchants that worked in the first half of February are now failing.

Errors on Payment Gateway and Merchant Portals :
You will see security violations or card declined messages on the merchant portal.

Action from Karbon:
We at Karbon are working with the Bank, SI HUB Team, Bill Desk and international PG's on this issue on priority but at the moment we don't have an immediate TAT. We already support international merchants that are using Stripe payment gateway.

We deeply regret the inconvenience caused but please be rest assured we are working on priority to resolve this at the earliest.

Team Karbon.
